There are 4 types of troops in Civilization War: Infantry, Archers, Cavalry and Siege Engines.
Training each type of these troops requires a relevant training Barrack building within the Castle, and the higher the level of your these buildings, the stronger troops you can train.
Also, each troop type has 2 sub-types as follows:
Infantry: Swordsman, Spearman
Archers: Crossbowman, Archer
Cavalry: Cavalry, Mounted Archer
Siege Engine: Catapult, Battering Ram
These sub-types are interrelated by the battle superiority and inferiority principles, which with a good use lets you build an effective and unique strategy accordingly.
